Production of new bioactive compounds by plants and bacteria using new and improved halogenases
This is a 36 month project present by an International Consortium coordinated by Dr. Karl-Heinz van Pée, from Technische Universität Dresden, Germany involving of 6 International Instituitions namely: i) Technische Universität Dresden, Allgemeine Biochemie, D-01062 Dresden, Germany; ii) John Innes Centre, Department of Biological ChemistryUniversity of East Anglia, Norwich Research Park, Norwich NR4 6PG UK; iii) School of Chemistry, Biomolecular Sciences Building, North Haugh, St Andrews, KY16 9ST, UK; iv) Technische Universität Dresden, Pflanzenphysiologie, D-01062 Dresden, Germany v) CITAB - Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, P.O. Box. 1013, 5001-801 Vila Real, Portugal; and vi) Vita 34 AG, Deutscher Platz 5a, D-04103 Leipzig, Germany. The CITAB is represented by Professor Eduardo Rosa and the Post-Doc researcher Alfredo Aires (Ph.D.). This project of a 1707 (k€) was prepared and submitted to ERA-NET Scheme of the 7th EU Framework Programme from European Union. The aim of the project is: to sinthetize new and valuable products by plant and bacterial cell cultures with improved enzyme systems for new and more efficient bioprocesses.
