Observatório de Sistemas AgroAmbientais e Alimentação do Norte

The project "Observatório de Sistemas AgroAmbientais e Alimentação do Norte" aims to implement and boost the Regional Platform for Smart Specialization for Agri-Environmental and Food Systems, aligned with RIS3 North and S3 NORTH 2027. It aims to articulate universities, research centres, sectoral associations, companies and public entities in a regional network capable of producing applied knowledge, supporting strategic decisions and strengthening territorial innovation. The main objectives are to improve the governance of smart specialisation, to structure PREI as a permanent space for dialogue and co-creation, to create a regional innovation observatory, to identify bottlenecks, opportunities and needs for R&I&D, and to promote entrepreneurial discovery processes. The project also seeks to strengthen strategic production chains, correct market failures, generate public-private partnerships, select anchor projects and strengthen the link between academia and the business community. It includes capacity building, dissemination, studies, workshops and knowledge transfer, as well as digital management and monitoring tools. It aims to promote digitalization, technological and ecological transition, the valorization of endogenous resources and territorial cohesion, ensuring that the benefits also reach low-density areas. The ultimate goal is to increase regional competitiveness, sustainability and resilience and to consolidate lasting institutional capacities in the innovation ecosystem of the North.
