BIOSEED – Sementeiras biodegradáveis para a optimização da produção agrícola

BIOSEED aims to develop biodegradable seedling pots from agricultural residues as a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics in greenhouse production. The project includes raw material selection, prototype development, chemical and mechanical characterization, biodegradability assessment, and evaluation of plant growth performance in crops such as lettuce and tomato. It contributes to sustainable agriculture, waste valorization, and environmental impact reduction, promoting innovative solutions aligned with the circular bioeconomy.
