BIOsCherry Project Featured in the Media 

The BIOsCherry project - Innovation and Sustainability in Cherry Production with Natural Biostimulants, coordinated by CITAB researcher Berta Gonçalves - was recently featured by several media outlets, including Notícias do Douro, Agroportal, and Universidade FM.

The project aims to develop innovative natural biostimulants to support more sustainable and resilient cherry production. These solutions seek to improve cherry trees’ ability to cope with environmental challenges, while also contributing to increased productivity and fruit quality. 

BIOsCherry focuses on the use of natural compounds as an alternative approach to enhancing crop performance and promoting more sustainable agricultural practices. The project is particularly relevant in a context where cherry production is increasingly exposed to environmental and climate challenges that can affect both yield and fruit quality. 

By exploring innovative, nature-based solutions, the project aims to contribute to a more efficient and sustainable cherry production system, combining scientific knowledge with practical solutions capable of addressing the needs of the agricultural sector. 

The work carried out under the BIOsCherry project and its potential contribution to the future of cherry production were recently highlighted by Notícias do Douro, Agroportal, and Universidade FM, increasing the visibility of the research conducted at CITAB and its commitment to innovation.
