SAVE THE DATE: XI Iberian Congress of Ichthyology

The Iberian Society of Ichthyology (SIBIC),  the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), and the Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB) organise the XI Iberian Congress of Ichthyology,  ‘Water and habitat for healthy fishes’, in Vila Real, north of Portugal, on June 24-27 of 2026.

SIBIC congresses are held every two years to address scientific, technological, and management challenges related to various aspects of Ichthyology. This edition, among other novelties, will focus on freshwater, estuarine, and marine fish, as well as the challenges of aquaculture in a growing population, fish ecology, climate change and the one health concept, among others. It will be open to researchers, technicians, students, and companies from other countries.
