Mariana Saavedra Silva, a PhD student in Chemical and Biological Sciences, supervised by Prof. Ana Novo Barros, received an honourable mention for her presentation at INNOVATION BOX of the project entitled ‘Stem4health - From Winery Waste to Oral Health’ at the 34th Congress of the Portuguese Medical Association.

This project consists of developing a mouthwash for the treatment of periodontal disease, using bioactive compounds extracted from grape stems. 🍇
