Entire - Emergence Analysis of Tailings Impacts for a Restored Aquatic Environment

UTAD/CITAB Coordinator: Luís Filipe Sanches Fernandes

The Entire project is focused on "hydrological modelling and decision support systems in the context of water resources management in river basins with multiple uses and anthropic pressures", and on the "protection of groundwater resources". In addition to the issues related to flow models designed for this purpose, the indices of vulnerability of aquifer systems and risk of contamination of surface water and groundwater are being evaluated in order to assess and recommend measures to improve regional water security.
The Entire Project constitutes a scientific challenge of enormous responsibility, but also an opportunity to be able to contribute in defining the return to normality in the affected areas and populations resulting from the Brumadinho dam collapse on 25 January 2019 in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
